Hello! I am the designated instructor for LFSC655. My background, starting from the present and working backward, is as follows: Professor Emeritus from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Maryland . I taught at UMd for 32 years until my retirement in 1994. My speciality while at UMD and before was in X-ray Crystallography. However, in addition to graduate courses in my speciality, I taught undergraduate physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and general chemistry during my tenure at UMd. My undergraduate work was done at Western Washington College of Education in Bellingham, Washington. That college, which started out as a "Normal" school, has now morphed into Western Washington State University. My graduate work was done, in physical chemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle. Until I was 25 years old I thought of Spokane, Washington as a major eastern city! My post-doctoral work was done at The Ohio State University of Agriculture and The Mechanical Arts in Columbus, OH. My interest in electrochemistry has arisen from personal adventures with building solar houses and acquiring a Toyota Prius hybrid gasoline-electric automobile. It is my hope that you will obtain useful information from this course. |
