Day 2

Bill and David M. had known that there were caves around the Micos area that contained fish but had, on previous trips, not been able to gain access into one cave in particular because of silt buildup at the entrance. We returned to the site to investigate.

In this area, it is common that one must find their way through cane fields to get to their destination.

Upon finally arriving at the cave, it was discovered that as before, the entrance was blocked. Fortunately, as has been customary on other trips, the local people were happy to help out, and a farmer who happened to be out in the field watching us told us of another entrance to the cave, and even drove us there in his truck.

Our new guide waits while we organize equipment for the trip.

Getting a ride!
Getting a ride in the farmer's truck to the elusive Cueva del Subterraneo. "Onward!" orders the Boss.

Eureka! Another, passable entrance! Our guide is standing on the left.
